Antique Market

Antique Market

antique1The main store at Dale's Antique Market houses an eye catching display of antique advertisement, gas station & automotive collectables, vintage toys, rare railroad items and much more. As you enter the store, your focus will be drawn from the beautiful handmade Mennonite furniture on display, to the antiques hanging on the walls, timbers and even the ceiling. This two storey timber frame building was constructed by Dale, with the intention of making his store, one to remember.

Antique Vendors occupy two buildings to the side and rear on the main store. As you stroll through the antique market you'll see a wide assortment of antique furniture, toys, depression glass, vintage china and jewellery, automotive collectables, classic books and art work from the years gone by. Each Antique Vendor tends his or her own booth. From May through October, all the Vendors are open Sundays and several open on Saturdays. Many of the Vendors have other jobs or professions to return to during the week. Those who are full-time Antique Collectors, spend the rest of the week buying and preparing for the next weekend.

Admission into the market is free, with ample parking to the rear of the main store. During Sundays there is a food concession booth available to those looking to quench their thirst or hunger, after a walk through our market.

antique2During the fall of 2004, Dale's Antique Market was visited by host Rene Huard, of the television program "Antique Hunter". During his visit, the Antique Hunter talked to a couple of our Antique Vendors, while filming the episode named "Flea Market Fun". The following is a description of the episode provided by the Antique Hunter show.

"Travel with Rene as he heads down the river, the Grand River that is. Rene pays a visit to Joe Sewell in Grand Bend, Ontario and checks out his collection of Heraldic miniatures. Rene also gets a chance to learn all about Hoosier cupboards with Floyd Cooper at Dale's Antique Market. Then it’s off to see Pam Marko at the Carlow General store in Goderich. Rene gets the goods on her collection of black cat cigarette ephemera and wraps up his trip round the Bend playing all sorts of games".
